How To Do Puppy Potty Training The Easy Way

Having a dog as a pet is very exciting. It is true that dog is indeed man's best friend. Getting a puppy is more exciting as you can train them to obey you and play with you. However, training a puppy is not as easy as you might think. Different dogs have different behaviors based on the breed. For instance, Golden Retrievers are lovely and cuddly. They love to be around their owners and being spoiled by them. Rottweilers, on the other hand, are normally used as guard dogs. This breed is very aggressive and may even causes damage to people he attacks. In some cases, a Rottweiler can also attack his owner if not trained well. However, all puppies, regardless of the breed, require the same basic training. Potty training your puppy is one of the things you must do when you get a dog. By doing so, your dog will know where and when he should relieve himself so that he would not cause any unwanted accidents inside your home.

First thing you need to do when potty training your puppy is to prepare your patience as some dogs are harder to train than others. The most important step is to get your puppy to go outside every time he needs to relieve himself. The way of doing this is by taking him to your yard every time he relieves himself on the floor or anywhere inside your house. You need to be firm on your puppy and show that you do not like it when he does it inside the house. After that, you should give your puppy some kind of reward, such as a biscuit, and praise him verbally ("good boy" or "smart boy" should do the trick). Therefore, the puppy will understand that he did the right thing. If he still relieves himself inside the house after several attempts, you can show your anger by yelling, so he knows that you do not like it when he does not relieve himself outside the house.

During potty training, you should also try to feed your puppy with dry dog food (kibbles) and do your best to feed him at the same time every day, as this will promote regular bowel movements. Also, give him plenty of water, at least a bowl every day. But always remember to take the water bowl before bedtime, so late night accidents can be prevented.
